Gurucharan Singh:

If Guru Nanak Devji was not there then I wouldn’t have been here. He has taught oneness. He started the Guru Granth Saheeb with Ek Onkar, which means God is one and we all are one and we should see God in everyone. Gurunanak started the Langar where everyone has to sit together in Pangat and have the same food. So all the people  are considered equal and they are his disciples. He teaches equality and he says you have to give Dasvandh i.e. 10 percent to the contribution of the poor and the unprivileged and for the upliftment of the society.

He says you should see God in everyone.  When I did Ardas in Delhi I prayed to God to take care of me as I was coming to Mumbai. Within 6 months I got Taarak Mehta Ka Ulta Chashmah. He gave me the biggest serial of  all time. There were lots of challenges and he gives me support to overcome these challenges. Guru Nanak  is very important in my life.

It is Guru Nanak’s birth anniversary today. Sikhs all over the world celebrate this festival with a lot of enthusiasm and happiness to remember the philosophy of Guru Nanak. Various cultural activities and langar are organized at Gurdwaras.  I usually go to Gurudwara and seek the blessings of the Lord. His teachings are very important in life and I think he blesses everyone. I wish you all a happy Gurunanak Jayanti.

Its the birthday of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. More than that we should cherish his teachings and words in our life. Because whatever he has said always touch my souls and it has made a huge difference in our life. Especially I like one of his saying- Everyone comes out from the same light whose wrong whose bad. That’s something which brings us to the understanding that we all are from one God . God is everywhere and everything is God. We should really understand that at the end of the day life starts and it ends. What matters is what you do in the middle. Reading Guru Granth Sahib gives me a peace.
